Introducing Circle: Redefining Office Furniture

Office environments often prioritize individualism, with furniture designs that fail to encourage socializing and teamwork. Recognizing this gap, Burcak Hazal Coskuner set out to create a modular workspace that brings together working and resting areas, fostering a sense of community and enhancing productivity.

"Circle" is dissociated from other chairs by its unique details and functions. It is meticulously designed to cater to the needs of modern offices, with careful consideration given to its size, materials, and colors. The sitting unit offers multiple seating directions and allows for various placements, providing flexibility and adaptability to different office layouts.

One of the key features of Circle is its use of rotational molding technology for the production of the main body. The shell is made of styrene-acrylonitrile resin (San) and filled with polyurethane (Pu), resulting in a durable and sturdy structure. The choice of molding ensures that the inflection point, a critical area prone to cracking, remains intact. The legs are made of aluminum, while the cushion is polyurethane molded and covered with fabric.

With dimensions of W 1150 mm x D 1150 mm x H 740 mm, Circle is designed to fit seamlessly into office environments. It is packaged demounted, with the legs easily screwed on after unpacking. The packaging dimensions are W 1150 mm x D 1150 mm x H 450 mm, ensuring convenient transportation and storage.

Circle offers a wide range of combinations, allowing it to be used individually or in dual and quad arrangements. It can also be combined with office desks, serving as a guest unit. This versatility makes Circle a perfect choice for different types and sizes of offices, promoting collaboration and enhancing work efficiency.

The development of Circle began in October 2015 in Ankara and was completed in December 2015. Burcak Hazal Coskuner conducted extensive research, visiting various offices and observing the dynamics of working and resting areas. The aim was to identify the missing spots in office life and create a design that addresses those needs. The project involved interviews with employees, capturing their daily routines through photographs and videos, and studying visitor behaviors.

Circle has received recognition for its innovative design and practicality. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2017, a prestigious accolade that honors well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design integrates industry best practices and exhibits competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
